The Powai police have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly raping a three-year-old girl child in Powai. By luring her to cold drink on Sunday accused took the girl to his house and allegedly raped her, two days back.
The accused identified as Haider Mohammed Kalim Shaikh. He is welder by profession and works on construction site. According to the police, the child was playing outside her home. Shaikh took the girl to his home by luring to give her cold drink and allegedly raped her. Police arrested him on Tuesday.
The matter came in light when the girl complained of pain in her private parts. When her mother asked her she narrated her ordeal. The mother then approached to the Powai police station. After medical examination police found that the girl was sexually assaulted. Police booked shaikh.
“We have arrested Shaikh under sections 376 (rape) of Indian Penal Code and sections 4 (committing penetrative sexual assault), and 6 (committing aggravated penetrative sexual assault) of Protection of Children from Sexual Offenses (POCSO) Act,” said a police officer from Powai police station.
He will be produced in court on Wednesday.
