MEGHWADI police have arrested a 58-year-old doctor on charges of rape after he sexually abused a female patient, shot an obscene video clip and circulated it on an online messaging app. A holiday court on Sunday remanded accused Vanshraj Dwivedi to police custody till October 17.
The 27-year-old victim, who used to live with her parents in Jogeshwari East, told the police she came into contact with Dwivedi in 2015. She was suffering from piles and Dwivedi, who runs a clinic in the area, started treating her.
According to the victim’s complaint, Dwivedi gave her an injection on May 28, 2015, when she was in pain. She said she went to sleep in his clinic for 45 minutes. When she returned home, she received a video clip from Dwivedi on her cellphone. The video clip showed her and Dwivedi in an intimate act.
