THE Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB), Akola unit has arrested a police sub inspector (PSI) Bhagwat Veersingh Patil of Chandur Bazaar police station, Amravati for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.

According to complainant, on April 6, 2014 a man Vitthal Gulabrao Kuche has complained in Chandur Bazaar police station against him accusing for robbing a sum of Rs. 30,000. PSI Bhagwat Patil was appointed as investigating officer in to the matter. Patil allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 5,000 from the complainant for taking no action against him.

The complainant approached ACB on May 24, 2014 complaining against Patil. On May 27, 2014 Patil was arrested in a trap set by ACB from behind Agarwal Complex, Shivajinagar, Chandur Bazaar while accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000
