Mumbai Slum Improvement Committee (MSIC) official blatantly lies to BMC S-ward official claiming Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut is not doing any illegal construction

THE Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) has sent a legal notice to Mumbai Slum Improvement Committee (Unit of MHADA) demanding an explanation for lying to BMC official over illegal construction by Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut. BMC asked MSIC authority as to why action should not be taken against him, and his explanation  on it.

Remember, on February 14, 2018 ABI (abinet.org) had published an article under headline, “BMC orders demolition of a marriage hall constructed illegally by Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut.” Sunil Raut is constructing a marriage hall at a playground Datar Colony, Kanjur Marg (East). It was therefore declared illegal by BMC S ward official after Inspection. On February 22, 2018 BMC official has also issued demolition notice of marriage hall under section 354-A of BMC act.

Now, on February 24, 2018 assistant commissioner, S ward BMC has issued a notice to executive engineer, deputy chief engineer, chief engineer and chief officer of MHADA demanding an explanation from officials. BMC has also forwarded a letter to deputy commissioner of police, zone 7, of Mumbai police.

According to the notice there was an illegal construction going on at Kanjur Co-OP HSG Society, Kanjur Marg (east) on an open ground. After receiving complaint by Manish Kotian, a local resident, BMC official visited the spot and issued stop work notice. In reply, on next day Kanjur Marg Co-OP HSG society submitted documents about the construction. The documents specified that on August 21, 2017  MSIC as given a work order for beautification of garden at Datar colony and not construction of marriage hall. Main issue is that, on February 22, 2018 BMC officer contacted MSIC branch engineer Chikshe on his mobile phone 9850062793. Shockingly Chikshe claimed that the construction work was being carried out by Mumbai Slum Improvement Committee.

BMC clarified that MSIC has issued the work order for beautification of garden and not construction of a marriage hall. Also neighter BMC has not given NOC for garden beautification nor construction of marriage hall. So why should action not be taken against on Chikshe under BMC act. They have also asked Chikshe for an explanation.

The copy of the notice is available with ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation).
