THE Satara unit of Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB) on May 27, 2014 arrested assistant police inspector (API) Gorakh Darekar of Satara city police station along with private persons Digambar Dhavre aka Raju and Vijay Shankar Salunkhe for allegedly demanding a bribe of Rs. 1 Lakh and accepting Rs. 70,000.

The press note issued by ACB that Darekar allegedly demanded Rs. 1 Lakh from the complainant threatening to file a false complaint of sexual violence against the complainant’s father. The complainant strokes a bargain and the bribe amount was set to Rs. 70,000.  Later the complainant approached ACB office and registered a complaint against Darekar on May 26, 2014.

On the basis of the complaint the ACB set a trap on May 27, 2014 and arrested Dharve and Salunkhe for accepting a bribe of Rs. 70,000 on behalf of Darekar. Officials also later arrested Darekar.
