THE Bombay High Court on Friday has allowed Pakistan based singer Adnan Sami to travel to Pakistan and London to meet his ailing mother for her treatment. The Justice Revati Mohite-Dere also directed Oshiwara police to return Sami’s passport.

The judge said, “In view of compliance of the orders, the applicant is permitted to travel to Pakistan and London for his mother’s treatment from May 11, 2014 to 28th May, 2014.

The Oshivara police has seized Sami’s passport on the court orders as he is facing a legal battle with UAE based ex-wife Sabah Galadri.

The court also took into account an assurance given by lawyers Ranbir Singh and Amit Ghag that Sami would deposit his passport with Oshiwara Police Station on June 5.  Edith Dey and Sana Usman, Counsel for Galadri opposed Sami’s plea for travelling abroad. But the court noted, if the applicant returns to India on or before 28th May, 2014, he is permitted to retain his passport till 4th June, 2014 to enable him to apply for a Visa, as he intends to travel abroad again in June.
