The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Mumbai has arrested a bench officer of Board for Industrial & Financial Reconstruction (BIFR) New Delhi; Managing Director & Chief Finance Officer (CFO) both of Mumbai based private company and a Delhi based middleman in Rs 10 lakh bribery case.

According to press release issued by CBI, a case had been registered under sections of 120-B of IPC and Section 7,8,9,12 & 13 (2) r/w 13 (1)(d) of PC Act1988 against one officer of the BIFR New Delhi; five private persons, including one Delhi based middleman & officials of a Mumbai based private company and unknown others on the allegations that the officials of the said company were paying illegal gratification for getting a favourable order from BIFR.

The private company of Mumbai was producing Nylon & Chemicals and declared allegedly sick by BIFR. Searches were conducted at eight places in Delhi and Mumbai, which yielded the recovery of an alleged bribe amount of Rs. 10 Lakh and incriminating documents including electronic records, etc. from the premises of the accused persons.

The arrested accused are being produced will be before the Special Judge for CBI cases, Patiala House Courts, New Delhi. Further Investigation is in progress.
