THE Hill Line police in Ulhasnagar-4 on February 15 registered a Non Cognizable (NC) offence against Jaya Sadhwani, a Congress candidate in the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation election, for allegedly threatening her competitor Ram Dudhani.
Dudhani and Sadhwani are contesting the election from panel number 17. While Dudhani is an independent Sadhwani is a Congress candidate. Known as DIDI (sister) in Ulhasnagar city Sadhwani is vice-president of state Congress committee’s women’s wing. She also served as deputy mayor and Congress group leader in the Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC).

According to the NC (a copy available with ABI) on February 15 around 2.30 pm Dudhani was campaigning in Gokuldham building, near Prabhat garden, Ulhasnagar-5. Sadhwani threatened him saying, “Main is building ki secretary hoon. Tumhari himmat kaise hui bina meri permission ke is building me aane ki. Tum ab kaise is building me aate ho dekhti hoon.” (I am secretary of this building. How you dared to come here without my permission?). She allegedly abused and threatened him.
ABI (abinet.org) has received several complaints against Sadhwani pertaining to her alleged involvement in illegal activities including extortion and illegal construction. In April 2013 Hill Line police had booked her for demanding Rs 50 lakh extortion from city- based builder Manoj Jagwani. She is also under scanner of Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB).
NOTE: As per journalistic ethics the other side of the story should also be published but ABI avoids this because Jaya Sadhwani alias DIDI has a tendency to misuse her power and register fake complaint with police.
