THE Ulhasnagar Municipal Corporation (UMC) officials seem to be discharging their duty in sleeping and corruption mode. ABI (Akela Bureau Of Investigation) is in possession of a property tax bill that shows that a shop owner at Jai Gajanan market is paying property tax beyond imagine. The shop owner have 30 sq fit shop but paying property tax Rs 62 only for that.

Remember, Rajendra Nimbalkar, Municipal Commissioner, taking strict action against 93,000 tax defaulters in city for not paying property tax of Rs 262 crore for many years. Not only this the UMC has also issued show cause notices to eight tax department officials for collecting less than 25 percent tax from their wards.

Now read this. A shop owner at Jai Gajanan market in Ulhasnagar-2 is paying as much as less property tax beyond imagine. The UMC officials who are issuing property tax bill failed to apply their mind that why shop owner paying so much less tax. Recently new bill (copy with ABI) for 2017 and 2018 has been issued for Rs 62 only.

When someone asked shop owner that why he paying so much less property tax he replied, “mera fayada ho raha hai to bura kya hai. Neend me to UMC officials kaam kar rahe hain.”

Sourced said not only this shop owner more than 40 shop owners are also paying similar property tax in Jai Gajanan market. Every shop owner is collecting rent for their shop between Rs 12,000 to Rs 15,000. Each shop’s market value is around Rs 35 to 40 lakh. But shop owners are paying less to less property tax. That is reason ABI always says: IT HAPPENS ONLY IN ULHASANAGAR.
