THE Maharashtra Government terminated services of six hundred medical officers for not attending to the patients during recent strike of doctors.

Maharashtra government on Wednesday informed to the Bombay High Court about the action against doctors. Earlier this month the court had rapped government for failure to deal with the strike.

Gunratan Sadavarte advocate by profession has filed an public interest litigation (PIL) in Bombay High Court claiming more than 80 patients died as there was no doctors to attend to them during the strike period. The division bench headed by Justice Naresh Patil was hearing on the PIL.

The court also directed the government to form a special investigation team (SIT) to find out of Sadavarte’s claims. Court also asked government to find out permanent solution to deal with strikes of doctors in future.
