The bubbly and colourful actress Pooja Sawant’s last movie ‘LAPACHAPI’ was a runaway box-office hot and earned her accolades for her brilliant acting. Dadasaheb Phalke, credited with creating Indian Cinema, as we know it today. The award in his honour, Dadasaheb Phalke Award is the most prestigious award in Marathi Cinema. It will be awarded on Dadasaheb Phalke’s 149th Death Anniversary, 21st April, at St. Andrews Auditorium in Bandra.
Before this award, LAPACHAPI has also won 16 other awards internationally. Pooja Sawant herself received a Golden Carlton Award at ‘Edinburgh Festival of Indian Films & Documentaries’ for best performance in a lead role.
