The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mumbai is searching for an assistant police inspector (API) Subhash Samant attached to the Khar police station in Suburban Bandra, Mumbai. Samant smelt a rat of about ACB trap and fled with bribe money Rs 20,000 before officials could nab him.

The ACB has booked API Subhash Samant, Inspector Mahendra Nerlekar , builder Vicky Arora, Mahesh Kamble and Robin Gonsalves  under sections 13(1)(d) and 13(2) of PC act along with 384, 409, 201,506,166,34 of IPC.

According to Additional Commissioner of Police (ACB) Vishwas Nangre Patil the complainant is a real estate agent, having his office in Arora towers, Khar. Vicky Arora, a builder, wanted him to vacate his office. He hatched a plan and took him on June 4, 2014 at his Dahanu farm house. As per the version of complainant three girls were brought there. When the complainant was in an intoxicated stage and was in compromised position with one of the girls, the CCTV footage was made.

On July 31, 2014 API Subhash  Samant called complainant into Khar police station. Samant showed an application to him alleging of gangrape by a girl student on the pretext of giving job and by drugging her along with photos annexed. The complainant was terrified. Samant asked him to talk to police inspector Mahendra Nerlekar about the matter.

The complainant approached Nerlekar who assured him of settling matter if he was ready to pay Rs 2 lakh. But later Nerlekar did not pick up his phone. So the complainant approached Samant who told him about Vicky Arora’s demand to vacate his office along with an additional amount of Rs. 50 lakh, to be paid to the girl.

Now aggrieved complainant approached ACB and the ACB did  a verification of the complaint and got concrete evidences about the conspiracy. Samant called complainant with the original documents of office space and Rs 10 lakh as the first installment at his Carter road, Khar residence, on August 4, 2014 at 6pm.

The complainant having not enough money so ACB did 10 bundles of blank note sized papers covered with Rs 1,000 notes worth of Rs 20,000.

As per the pre decided strategy after the transaction once complainant gave signal a lady constable knocked the door. Samant half opened the door. When Inspector Dhemre tried to enter as the Samant is a body builder and weight lifter he overpowered and locked the door from inside. By the time ACB team could break open the door, the Samant jumped from first floor through AC window along with the trap money, original documents of office, photographs and escaped.

During the search of Samant’s new i10 car officials recovered the application of rape along with the nude pictures.

As the complainant was threatened by Robin Gonsalvis and Mahindra Kamble on behalf of the builder Vicky Arora ACB officials also registered FIR against them.
