THE crime branch of Mumbai police on Thursday approached to magisterial court seeking permission to conduct Polygraphic test, commonly known as lie detector test on deputy director general (DIG) Sunil Paraskar.  57-year-old Paraskar is an accused of rape and molestation with a model-turned-actress.

The crime branch also has sent a letter to Paraskar in a bid to seek his permission to conduct a Polygraphic and lie detector tests on him.
Speaking to media Joint Commissioner of Police (crime), Sadanand Date said, “We moved in to the court to take a permission to conduct the chemical analysis tests on Paraskar.

A Mumbai based model (26-year-old) has registered FIR in Malvani police station against Paraskar (57-year-old) claiming that he had raped and molested at two places in Madh Island in Malad and a flat in Navi Mumbai.

Few days back Paraskar’s statement was recorded by Joint Commissioner of Police (Crime) Sadanand Date in Mumbai police headquarter. During the course of questioning, Paraskar has accepted that he and the complainant have been friends and had met on several occasions. However, Paraskar denied the allegations leveled against him.

Police would soon record statement of another controversial model Poonam Pandey into the matter.

The Mumbai  Sessions court on Thursday extended his interim protection from arrest till August 5.
