THE Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB), Mumbaiarrested Lahu Laxman Pokharakar,  a Police Constable attached to Sahar Police Station, Mumabi, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the complainant.

According to ACB press note, the complainant is the owner of a tours and travels business. Lahu Pokharkar demanded Rs. 25,000 from him in the name of a senior officer for not taking any action on the vehicles used by him. The complainant was not willing to pay the bribe amount, so he approached visited the ACB, Mumbai.

On September 30, 2014, the ACB officials laid a trap in the vicinity of the Sahar police station and arrested Pokharkar while accepting a bribe of Rs. 25,000 from the complainant.

The Anti – Corruption Bureau, Mumbai, requests the citizens to approach the ACB, if they come in contact of any government official of public servant, who demands or accepts bribe.

Wow inflation has really caught on Constables bribe used to be Rs 500!!!
