RUPESH Subhash Shinde, a prisoner at Thane central jail died of tuberculosis on Friday. 25-year-old Shinde was arrested for firing at deputy jailor of Taloja Jail in 2012.
According to sources Shinde was brought to Thane civil hospital on Friday afternoon where doctor declared him dead. His health reportedly deteriorated due to prolonged illness.
However, deceased brother Raju Shinde alleged that the jail authorities showed negligence in his treatment.
Shinde allegedly opened fired on Bhashkar Kachare, the deputy jailor of Taloja jail on September 9, 2012. The crime branch had arrested four accused, one of them was Rupesh Shinde. He was lodged in Thane central jail since then.
