MANISH Kotian, a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) worker has complained against Nikhil Patil, nephew of Sanjay Dina Patil, candidate of Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) from North-East Mumbai constituency. Nikhil Patil allegedly threatened Manish Kotian for campaigning for BJP candidate Manoj Kotak who is contesting against Sanjay Patil. Nikhil Patil warned him to refrain from campaigning against his uncle.
On April 22, 2019 Manish Kotian complained (copy available with ABI) to Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Zone-7 and Kanjur Marg police station against Nikhil Patil. Earlier Manish Kotian was associated with Sanjay Patil. Due to criminal activities of Sanjay Patil Kotian left him and joined BJP and is now working for Manoj Kotak. Recently, messages were being circulated on social media, which Kotian was also forwarding ahead. The messages implied and contained that Sanjay Patil had done nothing for his constituency when he was Member of Parliament (MP) for the public. Further, the message stated that BJP MP Kirit Somaiya had done a lot for the public interest. Nikhil Patil, angered by this threatened Manish to not circulate or promote BJP candidate Manoj Kotak. Nikhil threatened – “main ghar mein ghuskar marunga aur tera manoj (Kotak) bhi kuchh nahin ukhad payega.”
“I am extremely tensed at the moment and am worried about my personal safety as well as that of my family because Sanjay Patil has a criminal background and lots of known criminals are also wandering and working with him,” said Manish.
The BJP candidate Manoj Kotak is tough to beat for Sanjay Patil. Sanjay Patil may not win the seat. He was nominated from here very reluctantly by his party because of lack of other options. Sources also revealed that Congress party workers are also not with Sanjay Patil. So Sanjay Patil is frustrated and fed-up with this and is now trying to terrorise the BJP workers.
