MEMBER of Parliament (MP) and Congress leader Shashi Tharoor filed a complaint at Tughlak Road police station in Delhi regarding a burglary at his home.

According to police incident occurred in the early hours on November 29 at his Delhi residence at Lodhi Estate in the well-guarded Lutyen Zone but Tharoor approached police station on December 6.

Tharoor’s claimed, the thieves climbed the wall of his official residence and entered his personal office after breaking the front door. He was given the Gandhi glasses by the Prime Minister for his involvement in the Swachh Bharat campaign. Police registered FIR under IPC section 380/457 (burglary) against unknown person. Police are yet to identify the accused.

Several valuable items including costly idols an antique of Nataraja idol, 12 small Ganesha idols, ten small Hanuman idols, Twelve 32 GB pen drives and an internet dongle were stolen.

After registering the case, police have started questioning security guards and drivers working in nearby residences and others living in the vicinity. Prima facie, the theft could be the handiwork of vagabonds.
