THIS is the first Impact of ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation) reports. Finally, the Azad Maidan and Dahisar police have registered FIRs of rape against Senior Police Inspector Ravindra Jaisingh Medsingh, on Wednesday. 55-year-old Medsingh is an accused in matters of raping and threatening to two women in separate cases and separate occasions.
First FIR
The Dahisar police have registered an FIR (copy available with ABI) under sections 376 (rape), 354 (A) (sexual harassment), 342 (wrongful confinement), 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman), 504 (Intentional insult with intent to provoke breach of the peace), 506 (II) (criminal intimation) and 34 (acts done by several persons with common intention) of IPC against Medsingh and an unknown woman. Medsingh now posted in LA-2 of Mumbai police and is a resident of 302, Soma Tower, Chikuwadi, Simpoli, Borivali (East). Co-incidence, once Medsingh was posted in same (Dahisar) police station.
On May 3, 2014 ABI had published an article under headline; āSenior Inspector Ravindra Medsingh raped me too.”42-year-old Madhu Jain (name changed to protect identity) had approached ABI and told that Medsingh (so called encounter king) had raped her too. (Full story in second edition).
āThis is true that Dahisar police have registered FIR against Medsingh,ā said Madhu.
Second FIR
On April 25, 2014 ABI had published an article under headline, āEncounter king raped, married and divorced his informer.ā A female police informer had complained against Medsingh (who claims he has killed 17 gangsters in encounters) alleging that he raped her on several occasions, later married and divorced her. Now he is threatening her of dire consequences.
On May 7, 2014 (Wednesday) Azad Maidan police have also registered FIR against Medsingh in this matter.
āWe have registered FIR (Zero) against Medsingh. Matter has been transferred to Mumbra police station as incident happened in that police station jurisdiction,ā said a police officer on condition of anonymity.
The Commissioner of Police, Rakesh Maria had initiated an Inquiry in both the cases. Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Sharda Raut, who is also head of special women cell formed by Maria, investigated the matter.
