ABI IMPACT: THE Oshiwara police have registered an FIR of rape against television actor Ahwaan Kumar alias Maneet Middha, thanks to the Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria. Middha is currently absconding.
On November 11, 2014 ABI (abinet.org) has published an article under headline, “TV actor rapes actress, forces her to abort, later refuses marriage claiming that Janam-Kundli do not match.”
31-year-old actress Kavita (name changed to protect identity) registered complaints twice (copy available with ABI) against Middha at the Oshiwara police station. But instead of registering FIR police registered only NCs. Fed up Kavita, met Commissioner of Police Rakesh Maria. On instruction of Maria Oshiwara police registered FIR.
“We are much thankful to Maria Sir. He is nice person and very co-operative. God bless him,” said Kavita.
On November 22, 2014 Oshiwara police registered FIR (copy available with ABI) under sections 376 (rape) and 507 (Criminal intimidation by an anonymous communication) of Indian Penal Code (IPC). Assistant Police Inspector (API) Vandana Shirgire is investigating the case.
According to the FIR, actress Kavita, and Middha had met on the set of a television serial in 2011. Middha proposed her saying that he would marry her. Middha continued forcing her saying – “main aur logon ki tarah nahin hu. Main tumhara zindagi bhar saath dunga.”
On pretext of marriage Middha raped Kavita first time at his residence in 2011. Since then he was raping Kavita continuously at his residence, hotels and also Kavita’s home.
Kavita got pregnant. On February 12, 2012 Middha got her admitted at Sangeeta Nursing home, Andheri, where she underwent the abortion. Middha registered his name as husband in hospital records.
Kavita was continuously forcing him to marry. At last Middha went at his native place Gangapur in Rajasthan. He told Kavita from there that he cannot marry her because their Janam-Kundali was not matching.
Middha always insulted, tortured her. He suggested her to forget everything as accident. “Life me accident to hote hi rahte hain,” Middha said to Kavita.
Middha claimed he had affair with others named, Sonali Kulkarni and Seema Saini. So he can not marry her.
Kavita’s father is a retired officer from a Central Investigative Agency.
Despite repeated attempts Middha was not available for comment. His mobile number was continuously switched off. Even his father’s mobile number is switched off since two days.
Another person Vicky who claimed to be very close to Middha said, “I am not in touch with Middha since a long time.” This is Vicky who had threatened Kavita’s friend on behalf of Middha to keep away from Middha or be ready to face result.
