HISTORY-sheeter, MCOCA, MPDA and gangster Mayur Shinde, who was till March, TADIPAAR from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane was seen making a guest appearance at Misal Mahotsav organized by Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut. Mayur Shinde was also seen interacting with two Marathi film’s actors. Officials of Kanjurmarg Police Station were present at the event as well.
Sunil Raut, member of legislative assembly (MLA) from Vikhroli constituency had organized Misal Mahotsav (festival) at Kanjur Marg (East) for three days. Sunday was the last day of festival. Shinde attended the event on Friday night.
The misal is a local spicy delicacy and it is a Maharashtrian food item. Normally politicians organize such food festivals to woo voters and develop some soft power and sty in touch with their voter base. The presence of Mayur Shinde at this event has shocked the locals. Mayur Shinde tasted the misal-pav with Sunil Raut and two Marathi movie actors. The officials of Kanjur Marg police station were also present at that time and they were mute spectators at the venue. FIR was filed against Mayur Shinde in Kanjur Marg police station.
Incidentally, Mayur Shinde was a close confidante and a right hand man of Shiv Sena MLA Sunil Raut. However they had some disagreements in the past and Mayur Shinde shifted his loyalties to BJP’s minister Ravindra Chavan. These days, he is once again seen as being close to Sunil Raut and they seemed to have buried the differences between them. Mayur Shinde has been a dangerous criminal and has multiple cases registered against him, including serious charges such as MCOCA, MPDA as well. Hence is presence at Sunil Raut’s event was shocking for so many locals.
ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation) is in possession of video footage of the event. Four days back Mayur Shinde also had a meeting with Sunil Raut at his Bhandup office.
Who is Mayur Shinde?
He is a former member of Kumar Pillai gang and has 10 FIR’s registered against him. He runs a company by name of M. S. Infra. In 2000 Shinde was arrested in connection with the murder of Gulam Ali, a notorious criminal living in the area at Bhandup (West). Then he was booked under MPDA act.
Shinde was arrested and booked under MCOCA for firing at Bhandup-based real estate developer Vaibhav Kokate’s office on November 4, 2011.
On March 19, 2016, Mayur Shinde was arrested by the Mulund police along with his seven other accomplices for abusing and thrashing police sub-inspector Premnath Thotam. PSI was conducting a drive against drink and drive in Mulund. On September 19, 2017 then DCP zone -7 Sachin Patil had externed him from Mumbai, Navi Mumbai and Thane city.
