THE Indian Naval Offshore Patrol Vessel INS Sunayna, a state of the art front line platform of the Indian Navy concluded its participation in the International Defence Expo (IDEX 17) and Naval Defence and Maritime Security Exhibition 2017 (NAVDEX 17) at Abu Dhabi (United Arab Emirates) this morning. The ship had entered Mina Zayad port, Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates on 18th Feburary 2017.

Built at Goa Shipyard Limited, INS Sunayna, showcased Indiaā€™s warship building capability and the promoted ā€˜Make in Indiaā€™ concepts in the international exhibitions. The vessel is built with stealth features and equipped with 76 mm Super Rapid Gun Mount, Close in Weapon System and Chaff launchers and is ideally suited for missions requiring sustained deployments at sea such as anti piracy patrols.

Dr. Subhash Bhamre, Honā€™ble Minister of State for Defence along with other delegates participating in the exhibitions visited INS Sunayna. The presentation was followed by walk around of ship by Honā€™ble RRM and other delegates. He also interacted with the shipā€™s company of INS Sunayna.

Crew of INS Sunayna visited the Naval Defence and Maritime Security Expo 2017 site at Abu Dhabi. The crew visited various enclosures at the NAVDEX.

INS Sunayna also utilized the opportunity of participation in NAVDEX 17 to foster friendly relations with many participating countries and navies. Officers and sailors of INS Sunayna visited ships and had one to one interaction with officers and men of friendly foreign navies. The ship was also open to visitors of the exhibition and among others was warmly received by the Indian Community in Abu Bhabi.
