The police found a note in his pocket that said nobody should be held responsible for his death. The police said the man under stress owing to the losses he suffered.

A 54-year-old Mumbai based businessman identified as Shyamsundar Kejriwal, allegedly jumped off a high-rise in Kandivli (East) on Monday.

The man, Shyamsundar Kejriwal, lived with his mother, wife and a 24-year-old son in Challenge Tower in Thakur Village. Kejriwal did not go to work on Monday. He left his home in the evening, telling his wife he was going to Borivli. According to police, Kejriwal went to the adjacent tower and jumped off the refuge area.

The police found a note in his pocket that said nobody should be held responsible for his death. The man also sent a WhatsApp message to his son asking him to take care of himself.

“He ran a textile garment business. He was stressed because of the losses he suffered recently,” said an officer.

The police have filed an accidental death report. This is second case of suicide in the area within two weeks. On July 13, a 54-year-old textile export businessman Manish Mehta killed himself by jumping off his 17th floor bedroom balcony. A day before killing himself, Mehta had told his family that he was under stress owing to loss in his business.
