IN a very INHUMAN incident a Nasha Mukti Kendra (rehabilitation center) at Panvel has kept hostage a PATIENT from six months as his poor mother failed to pay bill. One reason the mother couldn’t pay is that she is being charging more money than she was billed by the Drugs & Alcohol Behavior Rehabilitation & Deaddiction Center, HARMONY Foundation.

The accused Harmony Foundation located at Drugs & Alcohol Behavior Rehabilitation & Deaddiction Center, Vichumbe, Near Railway Station, New Panvel (East), Navi Mumbai.

The patient Manish Ramesh Bhalinge (36) is a resident of Brahmanwadi, Mazgaon in Byculla (East). He was working at a petrol pump in Sewree. In 2013, all things were well but after coming in touch with bad company he started consuming MD drugs. All of a sudden things gone worst. Manish’s mother Sudha Bhalinge (64) shared problem with social worker Amin Chataiwala. Amin contacted online to Harmony Foundation, Drugs & Alcohol Behavior Rehabilitation & Deaddiction Center.

In December 2014 Harmony foundation admitted Manish and started treatment. According to Sudha during admission foundation authority told that there will be 10 month’s course and fees will be Rs 8,000 per month. The good news is that Manish has been cured. His family thanked God foe his recovery.

On September 29, 2016 Sudha paid final fee amount Rs 80,000 but foundation refused to release Manish demanding Rs 2,00,000 more.

“Maine karz lekar foundation ko 80,000 rupaye paid kar diya lekin wo ab do lakh rupaye aur maang rahe hain. Mere bete ko bandhak bana kar rakha hai,” said Sudha. (I paid the fees taking loan. They were demanding Rs two lakh and have kept my son hostage.)

Shockingly, the foundation never gave receipt of paid amount to Sudha. Once Sudha visited foundation requesting to release Manish but Abhishek Patil, incharge foundation, forcibly took in writing that Sudha had no money so that foundation did not release Manish.

“My son wants discharge. The foundation forcibly deployed him in kitchen forcing him do hard work. No option, I will approach police soon against foundation,” said Sudha.

When contacted foundation one of the emoloyees Sandeep said, “It is true that Sudha has not deposited outstanding Rs 1.5 lakh. Later we reduced the amount Rs 90,000. She is unnecessary putting pressure through politicians and media.”
