The Playboy Club is located at Birla Centurion, PB Marg, Worli, under Jurisdiction of N M Joshi Marg police station. More important than its address are its owners Sachin Joshi and Parag Sanghvi. Joshi is the chairman of JMJ Group (Goa gutkha fame) and Sanghvi is film producer, CEO of Alumbra Entertainment & Lotus Film Company. The former M.D. of media company K. Sera Sera, is known for financing and distributing films produced by Ram Gopal Varma.
High profile customers
Playboy Club was opened on November 4, 2016 in the presence of Bollywood actors and actresses. Known for the ‘Bunny’ logo, the Club is known as the Mumbai’s most exclusive party destination. High profile customers attend the club whose capacity is around 600 customers. Entry fee is Rs 5,000 per customer.
No Time Limit
As it OWNERS and CUSTOMERS are high profile it is natural to breaking Law & Order, it appears. The club stays open beyond the 1.30 am deadline and into the early hours of morning i.e. 6 am. The local police station N M Joshi Marg and also Social Service Branch have no guts to conduct raid and close it within deadline. It is alleged the huge amount is paid as bribe to ignore the club’s late mid night blitz.
“If clubs and discotheques had been allowed to keep their doors open till say 5 am instead of 1.30 am, they would have no reason to make under-the-table payments to stay open till later than the official deadline,” said a former S S branch officer on condition of anonymity.
Drugs Facility Available
Bunny, VIP table and Drugs are allegedly available at Playboy pub. There are around 10 to 12 VIP tables. If customer books tables Club provides BOUNCER per table. If customer wants to consume drug bouncer escorts him/her up to wash rooms, the popular destination. The bouncer allegedly keeps an eye on outside activities while the customer consumes his/her dose inside.
Daily basis permit
The club has no permanent license. It opens on Wednesday, Friday and Saturday. The management arranges daily basis license for liquor from excise department. Sources said Rs 5,000 bribe is fixed to excise department to issue permit license. Rs 10,000 is also a fixed rate for night duty officer in N M Joshi Marg police station. Senior Inspector, other than top officials and S S Branch are also the alleged beneficiaries. That is the reason police officers have no guts to take action on this club.
