A Swachchhata Pakhwada was organised under the aegis of Swachchha Bharat Abhiyan in the Colaba Military Station from 01 to 15 December 2016 by the Indian Army. During the fortnight various events were conducted by the Army Units and Army run schools including Swachchhata Pledge, Swachchhata Rally and Elocution, Poem writing and painting competitions.
During the closing ceremony today, a cultural programme, by school children, aimed at raising awareness about keeping the surroundings clean and a prize distribution ceremony to felicitate winners for events conducted through the Swachchhata Pakhwada were held. Major General Rajiv Edwards, General Officer Commanding Uttar Maharashtra and Gujarat Sub Area was the Chief Guest for the ceremony. Mrs. Naina Edwards gave away the prizes to the winners of competitions held during the fortnight.
