THE Air Intelligence Unit (AIU) at Hyderabad airport has arrested a person named Bunty Ashok Ramnanni for smuggling foreign currency worth Rs 50 lakh. The accused have been identified as a member of Ulhasnagar-based Deepak Suhani gang.

According to AIU sources Bunty Ashok Ramnani (32) has been arrested early in the morning on December 24, 2017. He was departing to Sharjah via flight No G9/459. On checking officials recovered US $59,000 and £18,000 Euro cleverly concealed in the handle rods of trolley bag, slippers, hand bag and rectum, collectively worth Rs 50,74,300.

Bunty is a resident of Roma Apartment, OT section, opposite Vitthalwadi police station, Ulhasnagar-4, Thane. He is involved in this smuggling business past three years, working for Deepak Suhani. Around 200 times he visited Sharjah, Singapore and Malaysia. His brother Amit Ramnani is also involved in this business.

ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation) had earlier reported that Deepak Suhani gang members had been arrested also at Pune and Mumbai airport this year.

Deepak Suhani is a resident of 3rd Floor, Shiv Valley Apartment, Godrej Hill in Kalyan (West) and is alleged kingpin of gold, USD smuggling gang and human trafficking has deputed 20 to 30 young boys (carriers) from Ulhasnagar for the smuggling business. These carriers fly from Ulhasnagar to Bangkok, Singapore and Dubai and return after placing gold in their rectum to avoid detection by the customs officers and thereby avoid customs duty at Mumbai, Kolkata, Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Amritsar, Delhi, Lucknow, Gaya (Bihar), Nagpur and Jaipur airports.

Cricket betting and gambling are the hobbies of Deepak Suhani. He lost Rs 2 crore in betting last years. Most of the times he morgases his properties after losing in betting and gambling.
