A tea seller in Pune City has become an inspiration for many and set a benchmark for his competitors by making Rs 12 lakh per month. The Yewle Tea House in Pune City of Maharashtra has become one of the famous tea stalls of the city, reports ANI. Not only this, Navnath Yewle, who is the co-founder of Yewle Tea house, aims to make his tea stall an international brand soon.
There are already three centres of Yewle Tea House running in Pune and every centre employs around twelve workers.
The news of tea seller Yewle comes weeks after Prime Minister Narendra Modi had said during a TV interview that even selling “pakoda” should be seen as an employment. In January this year, Modi had told Zee News that people earning Rs 200 a day selling “pakoda” cannot be considered unemployed.
It seems, Yewle agrees with the prime minister’s view. He told ANI, “Unlike ‘pakora’ business. This tea selling business is also creating employment for Indians. This business is growing fast and I’m happy.”
Modi’s view on “pakoda” business was heavily criticised by opposition parties. CPM’s Prakash Karat had written in an editorial, “Now we have it from the prime minister himself that massive employment has been created by people selling goods on streets. What the prime minister promises is more “pakoda jobs” for millions of new entrants to the job market.” Karat also said that Modi’s remark was a “cruel joke”.
PM Modi used sell tea as a child but went on to become the prime minister of India. Ever since he came to power in 2014, several inspiring tales of tea sellers from across the country have made news.
The prime minister has also used his tea selling past as a political weapon to counter opposition leaders like Mani Shankar Aiyar, who had mocked Modi’s humble beginnings in 2014.
