Sital Harchandani

ON March 19, 2018 ABI (abinet.org) published first article under headline, “Bank’s Chairman, Directors’ wave off their own loans. Daughters, son-in-law and grandson are among 149 defaulters of loan worth Rs 14 crore. Now, in second episode ABI (Akela Bureau of Investigation) has detected that the bank has also waved off loans of numerous politicians of all political parties.

Sital Harchandani, the BJP leader and Chairman of Navjeevan Co-operative Bank Ltd at Ulhasnagar, under his capacity as Chairman of the bank, has granted loans to himself, Directors, family members, relatives and politicians and then deliberately and conveniently waved off these loans.

Below is the list of politicians whose loans have been waved off :

Sources revealed Naresh Matai and Ram Chanchlani were given Rs 2 lakh loan for election campaign while Sital Harchandani was contesting elections. Neelu Wadhwani was given loan of Rs 1 crore to upgrade Kumar Resorts and Hotels, Lonavala. Earlier this hotel belonged to BJP leader Kumar Ailani. Now Neelu is no more. Jairaj Kalyani was given loan as Sital Harchandani has booked a flat in Paras apartment worth Rs 3 crore. Later Harchandani had sold the flat.

It is a shame that the Chairman and officials of the bank, instead of going after the defaulters, are engaging in corrupt activity and are conveniently waiving off these loans, when instead, they should be naming, and shaming the defaulters and be taking all necesary actions to go recover these loans. Akela Bureau of Investigation is investigating this matter in detail, despite its limited resources and trying to name the defaulters, related to the Managing officials of the bank, and bring them out in public, in the hope that authorities take note and legal action is initiated against them.

Third list of defaulters will be updated soon.
