MAHARASHTRA government has requested central aid for loan waiver of farmers, but it seems it does not have a roadmap in place for implementing the same. RTI Activist Anil Galgali revealed that farm loan waiver issue has not been taken up for consideration at official level as yet.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has requested union government aid to implement farm loan waiver in state, during his Delhi visit on Sunday. But the Public Information Officer of Cooperative Department, D.M. Rane has clarified that the issue of loan waivers for farmers is not under consideration. He also refused to provide the actual number of application received by his desk because they not maintain the separate register for Farmer’s loan waive request. All letter received by their desk have only one register. Rane claim that all application sent to Cooperative Commissioner and Register of Cooperative Sector, Pune.

Now days in Maharashtra 1.37 crores farmers have five acre land. 1.07 crores farmers have land upto five acre land and 67 lakhs farmers have 2.5 acre Land. Government of Maharashtra need 30,500 crores to waived off all farmer’s loan. Anil Galgali requested to Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis to fulfill their assurance which was delivered during period of election.
