UNIT-1 of Mumbai Crime Branch headed by Senior Inspector Vinayak Mer has conducted last night a raid on gambling den-Pokar- going on at Minu Minor Building, 7 Cuff Parade, Mumbai. It was being operated by Advocate Lalit Jain of Bombay High Court.
Cash of Rs 2,74,060/-, (1000) plastic coins mentiong 50 to 25,000 on it (may be Rupees) & (21) sets of playing cards have been seized.
A case u/s 4, 5 of Gambling Act has been registered at Cuff Parade Police station. Eight accused (Age 40 to 54 yrs) including Lalit Jain (46) have been arrested.
Senior Inspector Vinayak Mer, Inspector Mahesh Tawade, Assistant Inspector Anant Shinde, Sub Inspector Dyaneshwar Jagtap, Head Constable Tanaji More, Jitendra Shedge, Police Naik Nitin Tayade, Shailesh Shinde, Constable Santosh Lokhande and Driver Amol Varhadi have made efforts to make the raid successful.
