THE additional sessions Judge Narinder Kumar in Delhi court has awarded 10 years rigorous imprisonment to Shankar Sahney for possessing over 84 kilograms of ganja. A Bihar resident Shankar was arrested under violation of provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
According to police, Shanker was arrested on March 23, 2012 from Kamla Market area in New Delhi for carrying 84 kgs and 800 gms ganja in a hired tempo.

His two accomplices Dalip Sahney and Bhiku Sahney were later arrested from Gopal Pur village. However, these two (Dalip and Bhiku) were acquitted as the police have failed to prove their case against them.
Two accused including Ravinder Chaudhary were declared proclaimed offender.
