THE Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP) minority cell member in Ranchi was gang raped on Monday in-front of her husband. 32-year-old member has reportedly been gangraped by over 20 men apparently for her political affiliation.
According to media reports, the woman, her husband and teenaged daughter were sleeping at their home in Chanho, 40km from Ranchi in Bihar. Around 1.30am the 20 men entered smashing the windowpane of her house. Some of them took her husband, held him hostage at gunpoint and ordered woman to open the door. After that, some 20-22 men took turns in raping her for the next one-and-half hours.
Matter came in light when a neighbor noticed about incident. He rushed to nearby mosque to make announcement. But, before the neighbours could arrive, the rapists fled, taking cash and jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh.
