AAM Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Mayank Gandhi and others have been booked for molestation and criminal intimidation by Oshivara police. The police have not arrested anyone in the case.
On August 19, 2014, Oshivara police in Andheri registered FIR (copy available with ABI) against Mayank Gandhi, Tarun Singh, Vinay Mishra, Rubina, Sam and Rubina Mascarenes under sections 354 (A), 509, 506 and 114 of Indian Penal Code.
A 21-year-old female who is tuition teacher by profession and also AAP volunteer has registered FIR.
The victim, a resident of Versoa alleged that accused had molested her four months ago, during the parliament election campaign. She had approached Mayank Gandhi when informing him about the incident. But Mayank Gandhi did nothing and didn’t encourage her to approach the police.
A top police official confirmed about registering FIR against Mayank Gandhi and others. “We will decide further course of action after examining all the details,” he said.
Speaking to media Mayank Gandhi cleared his side saying, “she had approached me. I had suggested her to go to police and lodge complaint. I also had forwarded her complaint to internal committee to deal such issues. The committee had recorded both the people’s statement.”
