AGRICULTURE assistant officer, Deepak Ramdas Ghode (34), of agriculture department, Tivsa, Amravati was arrested by Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB) for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000.

According to the press note issued by ACB, Amravati the complainant was supposed to receive a cheque of Rs. 12,500 in the name of his father as a grant from the government for the cultivation of Turmeric. For handing over the cheque to the complainant Ghode allegedly demanded a bribe of Rs. 1,000.

Ghode was arrested by ACB, Amravati while accepting a bribe of Rs. 1,000 from the complainant in trap set at Rajnandan restaurant and Bar at Kurha. An investigation was carried on by ACB after which a complaint was registered against Ghode under sections 7(13) (1)(D) and 13(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act,1988.
