ARMY Red lifts the Winner’s Trophy and Indian Navy secured the Runners-up Trophy during the closing ceremony of the 64th Inter Services Boxing Championship 2014-15 conducted today evening at Indian Naval Ship Hamla a premier Training Establishment of the Indian Navy. Sandeep, SSR of Indian Navy was adjudged the Best Boxer. The attraction of the event was the participation of both nationally and internationally acclaimed boxers from the three services.
Two teams from Army and one each from Navy and Air force participated in the Championship, under ten different weight categories. The Championship was conducted on the individual knockout basic in accordance with rules followed by the Boxing Federation of India. The championship was witnessed by a large number of spectators and dignitaries from the Defence services.
Rear Admiral Sunil Anand, Chief Staff Officer (Personnel and Administration), Western Naval Command was the Chief Guest for the closing ceremony of the championship.
