THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Thursday has arrested an Enforcement officer, Employees Provident Fund Office (EPFO), MIDC Satpur, Nasik (Maharashtra) for demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs.10 lakhs from the Complainant (who is a Doctor).

According to press note issued by ACB, a case was registered based on a complaint under sections 7 of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 on the allegations that the accused had demanded Rs.10 lakhs from the complainant who owns a hospital in Nasik Rural in order to reduce EPF assessment for the hospital staff. CBI laid a trap and the accused was caught red handed while accepting the bribe of Rs.10 lakhs from the complainant.

Searches are going on at the premises of the accused. The arrested accused will be produced on Friday in the Court at Nasik.
