THE Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has on Thursday conducted searches at 23 places in Odisha; Mumbai; Bangalore; Kolkata and adjacent areas including residential places of then CMD; then President; then Chief Executive Officer; then Vice President; then five Directors and certain other employees of Odisha based Group of Companies and also at an Institute of Technology at Bhubaneswar in the alleged multi-crore Chit Fund Scam.

According to spokesperson CBI, during searches, incriminating documents have been recovered. Searches at Institute of Technology based at Bhubaneswar led to recovery of documents allegedly showing substantial payment of around Rs.9 crores made by then CMD of said Group of Companies have also been recovered.

CBI had registered four cases in West Bengal and 44 in Odisha this year in the multi-crore chit fund scam on the direction of the Honā€™ble Supreme Court of India. The investigation of these cases has been taken up by the SIT of CBI.

The investigation is continue.
