CITY’S first family games event saw a great turnout at Mahalaxmi Racecourse, on Sunday.

Over 200 people congregated at the Mahalaxmi Racecourse grounds on a sunny Sunday morning to play the games of their childhood. Portly grandmas sportingly competed in sack races, while families toiled under a blazing sun to smash a lagori or win a relay race.

The occasion was ‘Come out and Play’, Mumbai’s first family games event that sought to highlight the joys of playing in the city’s opening spaces with one’s family. “It’s a lovely atmosphere here, and we are very happy to take part in these games as a family,” said Deepak Ved, an Andheri resident who attended the event with his older sister, wife and young daughter. Said Sajid Shaikh, Byculla resident who attended the event with 21 others from his family, “We had a very good time playing these games that we played in our childhood, and which our children have not even heard of.”

The event had some distinguished partners for gifts – Adlabs Imagica, Sshaawn Aviation and Libas gave out awesome gifts for winning families. The event was organised by an event company I-deators along with The Metrognome, an online portal..
