EXECUTIVE Engineer Samratsingh Omkarsingh Pardeshi, of the Irrigation Department, Aurangabad and his wife Shivnanda Samratsingh Pardeshi have been awarded to a rigorous imprisonment for three years and a fine of Rs. 80,000 for possession of numerous assets.

The then police inspector Subhash Joshi, Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB), Aurangabad did the investigation in the matter on the basis of a complaint against Pardeshi and filled a report against him for possession of numerous assets. In the investigation it was proved that Pardeshi and his wife had acquired assets worth Rs. 8, 83,221 and an FIR was filled against them at the Krantichowk Police Station, Aurangabad under sections 13(1) (E) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section of 109 of IPC.

In the further investigation it was proved that the husband and wife duo acquired assets worth Rs. 27, 33,374 i.e. 48.4% of their income. The duo was convicted for possession of illegal assets by the special Court Aurangabad, by judge S. G. Shette sections 13(1)(E) and 13 (2) of Prevention of Corruption Act, 1988 and section of 109 of IPC of a rigorous imprisonment for 3 years each and a fine of Rs. 20,000 each.
