A criminal writ petition has been filed in Bombay High Court against controversial top cop Quaiser Khalid, senior police Inspector Prahlad Panaskar and sub-Inspector Dalvi of Chembur police station by Rajiv Sharma a cosmetic shop owner in Chembur. According to the petition, Khalid had allegedly hatched a conspiracy to grab his cosmetic shop Beauty Fair with the help of his aides.
Sharma (32), a resident of Lokhandwala, Andheri (west) owns a cosmetic shop in Chembur near Ambedkar Garden. On November 25, 2013 one of his employees Siraj Sattar Khan, along with Majid Khan, Akbar Khan and six others forcibly took over the shop claiming that he was the real owner of the shop. Khan had also allegedly forged the documents of the shop. Sharma informed the police about it and the police along with the others took Sharma to the police station where to his surprise the police was giving the accused a VIP treatment. Sharma also got to know that police had already registered an FIR of extortion against him.

Surprisingly on October 12, 2013, when police claimed that Sharma threatened Akbar, Sharma was in the hospital the whole day as his wife delivered a baby. On these grounds Sharma succeeded in getting an anticipatory bail from the court. Since then Sharma has been complaining to Panaskar against the accused but he refused to register his complaint. However, the land lord Raju Gupta on November 25, 2013 vacated the shop from the accused and handed it over to Sharma. While vacating the shop the accused stole items worth Rs. 1 Crore from the shop.

After getting the anticipatory bail Sharma met the then Commissioner of Police Dr. Satyapal Singh and Joint Commissioner of Police (Law and Order) Sadanand Date. On instructions of these top police officials the Chembur police booked the 9 accused on December 15, 2013 but with minor sections and did not show any interest in arresting them.
“I came to know through police officers that Khalid is infamous for protecting criminals. He is a very corrupt officer in Mumbai police. One of the criminal was in touch with Khalid on continuously for the matter. I have filed petition against Khalid and others,” said Sharma.
After all this Sharma has lost faith in Chembur police and demands that the case should be handled by some other police station or the crime branch.
Officials speak
“I am not aware about writ petition against me. So cannot comment on the issue,” said Khalid, who is now posted in traffic police department.
“I am in meeting with ‘saheb.’ I will call you later,” said Panaskar.
The writ has long been dismissed as false and fictitious. The price of right thing is, unfortunately bad publicity!
