A Pune based NGO Desh Bachao Party (DBP) on Friday filed a complaint in local court against Maharashtra’s new Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis under Motor Vehicle Act (MVA). However, magistrate accepted the complaint and posted the matter for hearing on November 5.
Remember, on Friday Devendra Fadnavis took oath of new Chief Minister of Maharashtra state.
According to media reports, NGO DBP President Hemant Patil, filed complaint in the court of Judicial Magistrate S S Patil, First Class in Shivaji Nagar, Pune, under sections 129 and 177 of MV Act. Section 129 of MVA prescribes that wearing of helmet is compulsory for a person driving a two wheeler, while section 177 prescribes Rs 100 fine for committing such offence.
Fadnavis allegedly had violated provisions of the Motor Vehicles Act by driving a two wheeler without wearing helmet. Patil also produced a photograph of Fadnavis driving the two wheeler without wearing helmet during the recent election campaign in Nagpur.
