N M Joshi Marg police has arrested gangster Ashwin Naik on Thursday for allegedly threatening a man, who sought the name transfer of the newly purchased flat in building. Alongwith Naik police has also arrested building secretary Ashok Jadhav into the matter.
According to police, the complainant Prakash Patkar has recently purchased a room in the building where Jadhav is secretary. Patkar has been requesting Jadhav to complete the formalities so that the house he purchased can be transferred on his name. However, Jadhav was avoiding him as he did not want to transfer the house because he may was planning to usurp the property.
The police officials told media that Jadhav went to Naik and called up Patkar from his phone before handing over the mobile to the gangster. Naik then gave Patkar death threats saying he should not trouble Jadhav. Following the complaint from Patkar, accused Naik and Jadhav were arrested.
On Thursday the two were produced before a court which granted them bail.
