MUMBAI Police and politicians were the next target of Indian Mujahiddin (IM). The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has disclosed that the IM was planning 26/11-type attacks on Mumbai to shake up the government. A special MCOCA court in Mumbai, on Friday, remanded till March 13 the IM co-founder Yasin Bhatkal and his aide Asadullah Akhtar in judicial custody (JC) in connection with the July 13, 2011 Mumbai triple blasts case.
On Friday, NIA filed 277—page charge sheet against Bhatkal and three others in Supreme Court. Charge sheet has elaborate details that how they were planning to Fidayeen attacks on politicians and officials of Mumbai.
According to chargesheet Hyderabad blasts accused Asadullah Akhtar and IM operative Mirza Shadab Baig had discussed about bomb explosions. Bhatkal and its India operations chief Ahmed Sidewalks alias Basin Bhatkal were impressed with Masts attacks in Darts in Chhattisgarh. Moist had attacked on Congress rally in which 27 Peoples were killed, including the party’s top leaders.
The NIA had arrested Bhatkal (30), wanted in over 40 terror cases and carries a reward of Rd 35 lake, as well as Akhtar, from the In do-Nepal border on the night of August 28, last year. NIA had traced that Mira Bait had sent an online message that he would avenge the arrests by targeting police.
In a chat between Akhtar and Bait on July 18, 2013, Mira said: ‘Main yet Key raga the Li ab porn job la change Carnegie (change from explosion to 26/11 type action)’.”After the arrest of Basin and Akhtar, Mira left a message to Akhtar that read: “hello tension nail lena ba hut bald ii ii tea badly lungs,,,, ba hut means pudgy into yet !!!! (sic)…very soon they will pay for it. The charge sheet also detailing a chat on June 1, 2013 between Niyaz and Basin.
On Friday both the terrorist were produced in MCOCA court Mambo where court has remanded them to judicial custody till March 13. Special public prosecutor Ujjwal Ni kam told media about their custody. Ni kam also requested court to do not to lodge Bhatkal and Akhtar in Mumbling Arthur Road jail but to Than jail.
Success in their new stratergy will help to boost the morale of their cadre which seems to have been demoralized due to arrest of many top rung leaders of the organization. The group’s handlers across the border are also monitoring their actions keenly.
It is clear from the new modus operandi of the IM, that it is a terror organisation which intends to target eminent personalities to spread terror and grab global headlines.
