THE Kalyan youth ARIF Majeed, who was suspected to have joined middle-east terror group Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), returned to Mumbai on Friday. He is being interrogated by the National Investigation Agency (NIA).

Sources said NIA team reached Mumbai airport from Turkey at around 5.15am this morning with Arif. Majeed has bullet injuries and serious health problems.

According to media reports, in May this year four youths from Kalyan in Thane district — Arif Majeed, Aman Tandel, Shaheen Tanki and Fahad Shaikh — had left India to visit holy places in the Middle East, but disappeared thereafter. They were suspected to have joined the ISIS. 23-year-old Majeed was believed to have been killed while fighting for ISIS in Syria.

Speaking to media, Majeed’s family friend Iftekhar Khan told that NIA official informed Arif’s father Ejaz saying his son is in Mumbai.
