THE Pune unit of Anti – Corruption Bureau (ACB), arrested Rupali Namdeo Jadhav (36), the livestock development officer (expansion), grade -1, Panchayat Samiti Office, Baramati, Pune along with aide Munna Rashid Sheikh (32), who owns a chicken centre in Pune, for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 5,000.

The complainant’s brother is under the profession of cattle rearing, for which he receives financial grant under Special Component Plan by the District Council. For releasing the amount in the name of his brother’s farm at Dahivandi, Phaltan, the accused demanded a bribe amount of Rs. 15,000 from the complainant. After a bargain the bribe amount was reduced to Rs. 5,000.

The complainant approached the ACB, Pune in the matter. On July 25, 2014 in a trap set by ACB, Sheikh was arrested from Pencil Chowk, near MIDC, Baramati while accepting the bribe amount of Rs. 5,000 on behalf of Jadhav. Further investigations in the matter are in progress.

The ACB requests the citizens to approach the ACB in case if any government or public official or an aide on behalf of the official demands bribe.
