MAHARASHTRA was left reeling once again after a shocking daylight shooting incident targeted a former BJP councilor in Jalgaon’s Chalisgaon area. The assailants, whose identities remain unknown, brazenly entered the office where the BJP leader was present and fired four rounds. The entire episode was captured on CCTV, providing crucial evidence for the ongoing investigation. The victim, identified as Mahendra alias Balu More, a former councilor for the BJP, sustained three to four gunshot wounds to his legs, according to initial reports.
The incident caused widespread panic in the vicinity, as seven to eight unidentified individuals were involved in the attack. Mahendra More is currently receiving treatment at a private hospital in Chalisgaon, where his condition is being closely monitored. Eyewitnesses reported that the assailants barged into More’s office unexpectedly and began shooting before anyone could react, leading to More’s injuries.
Following the attack, the Chalisgaon police swiftly arrived at the scene to begin their investigation. A search is underway to apprehend the gunmen, who reportedly covered their faces with cloth during the assault, making identification challenging.
