A 34-year-old State Reserve Police Force (SRPF) Jawan has been arrested by Antop Hill police for allegedly molesting a 28-year-old-woman on Friday. The local court has remanded him in police custody up to Monday.
The accused identified as Dinesh Baliram Dabade. He is a constable in group number-11, Navi Mumbai. The complaint is a Mulund resident and had gone to meet a friend in Antop Hill area. Dabade also had come to Antop Hill to meet his sister. The complainant had approached to ask an address. Introducing himself as policeman he tried to get close to her.
When complainant was moving towards Dabade allegedly stalked her and touched her inappropriately.
“We have arrested Dabade under section 354 (Assault or criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 354-D (stalking) of Indian Penal Code,” said a police officer from Antop Hill police station.
