A Mantralay Clerk and two agents have been arrested by the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB), Thane on Friday for allegedly demanding and accepting a bribe of Rs. 40,000 from the complainant.

According to the press note issued by ACB, the accused identified as Kishor Janardan Shinde (42), Vinod Bhimrao Akhade (33) and Sunil Jagannath Bansode (22). Sunil Shinde is a clerk in Mantralay, Mumbai while Vinod Akhade and Sunil Bansode are agents. They are residents of Badlapur and Ulhasnagar.

The complainant is rationing shop owner. Someone had complained against his shop in Mantralay. Kishor Shinde allegedly demanded Rs. 40,000 bribe for not taking action on his shop. After a bargain, Shinde reduced the bribe amount to Rs. 30,000.

On July 11, at around 9.10pm the ACB officials laid a trap in Deepak Hotel, opposite railway station, Kalyan (west) and arrested Shinde and Bansode while accepting bribe of Rs. 30,000. Later, the ACB officials arrested the third person Vinod Akhade from Balaji Lodge near Shahad Railway station in Kalyan (west).

The accused have been booked under sections 7, 12, 13 (d) with section 13 (2) of the Prevention of Corruption Act-1988.
