AMWAY, the direct-selling company’s India CEO William Scott Pinckney was arrested by in the Warangal district police in Andhra Pradesh. Pinckney was facing a criminal case.

According to media reports Pinckney had been earlier arrested by Kurnool and Khammam police in the state in similar cases.

The company is facing cases under Prize Chits and Money Circulation Schemes (Banning) Act at many places in Andhra Pradesh.

Based on a complaint lodged by advocate Sadiq Ali, the Jangaon police in Warangal district had obtained a production warrant from the local court. They took him into custody from the Central Prison in Warangal.

Responding to a complaint alleging financial irregularities in Amway’s operations, Pinckney was arrested in Gurgaon on Monday by the Kurnool Police.

A court in Kurnool rejected Pinckney’s bail petition. But before Kurnool police could take his custody from Kadapa prison, the Khammam police arrested him.
