AWAZ Prathisthan and District President Congress leader Sachin Pote organised Dahi Handi Program at Maxi ground in Kalyan, west.
More than 179 Govinda Mandals participated in the events at the ground. The cash price of the Dahi Handi was 25 lacs.
Several Marathi film industry celebrities like Neeta Tambe, Deepali Sayyed, Tara Sharan, singer Abhijeet Kosambi and from bollywood the Ram Leela Fame actress Richa Chaddha and singer Shahab Sabri were also present in the event.
Speaking on women empowerment Sachin Pote said that the women want to be treated as equals so much. If a woman rises to the top of her field it should be a commonplace occurrence that draws nothing more than a raised eyebrow at the gender. This can only happen if there is a channeled route for the empowerment of women.
Congress leaders Sanjay Dutt, Yeshwant Apte, Loksabha youth congress president Avinash Tiwari, Loksabha youth congress general secretary Sukhvinder Singh Saini and many others attended the event and motivated the govindas who came for the Dahi-Handi celebration.
